Sport Event Risk Management

DHS/FEMA has directed the implementation of the Federal SID for all HSNTP granted funded participants beginning October 01, 2012. In order to register for these courses, it will be required to have a Federal SID.

This course is focused upon building capabilities for multi-agency collaboration. Intact incident management teams enhance their basic concepts relative to planning, risk assessment, training, exercising plans and recovery/business continuity through scenario-based training modules. The expectation is for leadership teams to return to their respective sport venues and coordinate development of a sport event security management system.

This course represents a cooperative effort between The University of Southern Mississippi’s National Center for Spectator Sports Security and Safety (USM/NCS4) and the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service’s National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (TEEX/NERRTC), a member of The Texas A&M University System.
